2024 in Review

A footnote-laden, probably-self-indulgent summation of a year that was, a lot of the time, a real shit sandwich

I’ve been thinking about how to sum up my 2024 in Journalism. It wasn’t the worst year of my career.¹

But it also wasn’t the best. Not by a long shot.

For me, professionally, 2024 was hard. Or, to be more charitable: 2024 presented many opportunities to rise to the occasion.

To my credit, I feel I rose to those occasions…
