I find "The American President" (Michael Douglas) to be almost as enticing as "Dave" though not as much fun, and almost as silly about how things work in Washington (I'm surprised at how much Rob Reiner got wrong):

"This complicated system can be fixed by simple common sense" is one of the most self-indulgent wanktropes in all of entertainment. When Tom Clancy died, I read all of the Jack Ryan books in story order. When Ryan becomes president (spoiler alert?) he becomes the embodiment of the "everything can be solved by a good ol boy willing to stand up to the bureaucrats who are clearly making things difficult on purpose"
