I loved Somebody, Somewhere. I am also grateful that it ended before it went on too long like so many lesser shows.
As an average cis gender Afghan American man raised in rural NY state (mostly) the show resonated. Bonus that I actually had breakfast in The Chef once, so I feel like a local.
Yes, and it is right around the corner and a block away from the mall! Which abuts the downtown. Like, you can walk to the mall to get your steps out of the rain and snow. I’d never seen such a thing.
Fresh out of college my first job in Kansas City had me covering a wide territory in Kansas. I did a lot of traveling out there and met a lot of people new to me. Farmers, Bankers, Family owned businesses, Mom and Pop Restaurants & Motels. I was sent to a farm for a few days and was instructed in pole barns, grain silos, farm machinery and farm animals. It was a hands on education and I loved it. Some of the kindest and caring people I have ever met. Yay on Small Town America. Nice read Ms. K. And nice to hear you back on the air again. Hang in.
You make a show about Titonka, I'll make a show about my hometown (Floyds Knobs), and soon we'll have a whole network of shows about Midwestern towns with suggestive names.
Allow me to introduce you to a Canadian show “Letterkenny”.
Seconding Letterkenny. It's a love letter to rural communities.
Yessss I'm so excited to try it!

Wait The Chef exists?!?!? I love it! I need to go there (and get French toast for the table).

....what a name. "Floyds Knobs." Hotchie motchie.
Drive an hour or so north and you reach the beautiful town of Gnaw Bone. Not to be confused with French Lick, which is an hour west of Floyds Knobs.
Excuse me. I need to go take a cold shower.
